Methodology
and timetable
The workshop is going to invite experts, mainly from
countries with relatively low experiences in new information technology. The workshop is
planned to be held on 20-24 April 1998. It will allow in addition the preparation of
participants for the forthcoming conferences in Freising, and in Rome. We hope, the
training and discussion with young experts from the subregion will generate some new ideas
which can be important and useful for FAO WAICENT programme, too. The workshop will be
organized in two parts: theoretical and practical training. The main goal is to advise and
gain practical skills in using the Internet and CD-ROM technology. The participants will
be encouraged to discuss related questions and share experiences. They will be asked to
prepare and bring some texts and additional material for practical work, especially for
practising the use of FTP or creating and adding some information to their homepages. They
will be trained by using - FAO -WAICENT-homepage and CD-ROM s, - IAALD- homepage, -
NitraNet -homepage, - PARTICIPANTS -homepages and CD-ROM s.
